CHRIS ABELL

 

Home Town: Burlington, VT by way of Breckenridge, Colorado

Favorite Dutch oven recipe: Double fudge brownies

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: Riding a bike is kind like pizza (and some other things), even when it's bad it's still pretty good.

Claim to fame: With some zip ties and duct tape MacGyver's got nothing on me.

What do you do when not riding: Ski, movies, disc golf, drink a good IPA.


TERRIN ABELL

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: Every time I keep the rubber side down :)

What do you do when not riding: Music, disc golf, friends, beer. Mostly daydream about riding.

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: Making the pilgrimage to BC and riding the best trails on earth.

What do you do when not riding: Skiing.


KATE PEARCE

 

Home Town: Marquette, MI

Favorite Dutch oven recipe: Carrot cake! My recipe is as close as you can get to "made from scratch" in the backcountry, with homemade cream cheese icing of course.

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: Taking laps down Teton pass in Jackson, and hitchhiking back up on my birthday a couple years ago.

Claim to fame: I have been known to ski and ride my bike while dressed as a unicorn on special occasions, or sometimes just an average Tuesday.

What do you do when not riding: Ideally I'm skiing powder, riding my snowbike (that's different than mountain biking, right?), or traveling - usually in search of great skiing, biking, and delicious food!

What do you do when not riding: Fix bikes and find more spots to ride bikes


ZOE SCANLON

 

Home Town: Flagstaff, Arizona

Favorite Dutch oven recipe: Hands down, Lasagna!

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: The day I flew over my handlebars and dented my helmet on the Girdner trail in Sedona. That part wasn't exactly what you would call fun, the fun part was the rest of that ride and every ride since. After that crash I thought to myself "that really wasn't that bad" and discarded the fear that was holding me back. That was the day I found flow.

Claim to fame: I have been to more countries than I have been to states.

What do you do when not riding: I use my feet, a backpack, a harness, skis or a boat to search for the beautiful places few others have found.


LIZ SCHWAB

 

Home Town: Saratoga Springs, New York.

Favorite Dutch oven recipe: 4lbs of bacon.

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: Racing bikes for Fort Lewis.

Claim to fame: Cooking minute rice in 55 seconds.

What do you do when not riding: Skiing uphill and downhill, EMS!


KARA SEPHEL

Favorite Dutch oven recipe: By the time I'm done riding, all of them!

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: Teaching my twin sister to mountain bike in my backyard in Park City—she rocked it!

Claim to fame: My chocolate chip cookies.

What do you do when not riding: downhill and skate ski, eat, run, eat, read, bake cookies.

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: San Juan high country... Oh boy...

What do you do when not riding: Concocting new taco combinations, skiing powder and ogling over new gear.

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: When isn't it fun on 2 wheels?

What do you do when not riding: Ski Patrol at Canyons Resort.


MARK TAYLOR

Favorite Dutch oven recipe: Peach cobbler.

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: Anytime I’m on two wheels!

Claim to fame: All the other guides saying, "Where did we get this guy from?"

What do you do when not riding: Ski/Snowboard, backpack, fish, climb anything out of doors really.


CHRIS WAMSLEY

 

Home Town: Spokane, Washington

Favorite Dutch oven recipe: Pineapple Upside Down Cake-- hands down the funnest thing to make and eat (I also really like Pineapple)

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: I have been riding for as long as I can remember, so I have had lots of fun times! But the one time that stands out the most was the private day at Coast Gravity Park I  had during my bachelor party. 12 of my best friends, a whole bike park to ourselves, velcro dirt, It was ridiculously fun! Just trains down some of the best trails in the world all day!

Claim to fame: I used to be able to stand on an exercise ball, catch a medicine ball, do squat and throw it back while training to race downhill bikes. It was tough, but a really fun way to work out.

What do you do when not riding: I’m always pretty pumped when the snow falls so I can go snowboarding.


KARA WILLIARD

 

Home Town: Santa Fe, New Mexico

Favorite Dutch oven recipe: Chilaquiles or anything with NM green chile!

Most fun you have had on 2 wheels: Osberg Ridge with a solid crew during the peak of wildflower season in Ketchum, Idaho.

Claim to fame: I've spent 8 years working on the art of bootfitting. I had the privilege of saving the toenails of my co-guides after ski season

What do you do when not riding: Skiing! Bootfitting at The Boot Doctors. Ridge laps at Taos Ski Valley.
